Plein air oil painting depicting Dormont and Mount Lebanon PA, just outside of Pittsburgh PA. 
In this painting I was studying the effect of the rising sun on this hillside, something that I often see in the morning near my house. I love the way shadows look this time of day, as well as the warm yellows and reds and oranges that are beginning to appear as Fall approaches. Beginning before sun rise, I sketched in the composition and shadows adding in light as it appeared. I am really happy with how this one turned out.
