Oil on panel 12” x 16” ..  I was astounded by how well this painting turned out. I completed this during the Plein air painting class that I teach at Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media. At each class I paint along with my students. We planned to paint an open field in Mellon park, but as we walked there, I spotted this site out of the corner of my eye. I decided that I would pull out a tube burnt umber, which I normally don’t use, but after this experience, I see I should use it more !
