" Buckets , Sidney Street, Southside" oil on panel 12" x 16" x 1/2" ... The light this time of year is phenomenal. I love observing the intense reds, violets, yellows , and oranges in shadow and the cool lemonie yellow in sunlight. Often late morning early afternoon light is so intense that you need to squint, but it's also when I'm finding color to be the most interesting.... I often have mixed feelings visiting this part of the Southside. It's beautiful and filled with life, but also filled with sadness and death. Often when in this area I will see a few people who I know are living on the river bank (not by choice) and am reminded of a time in my life when I went through struggled. Sometimes I feel greatful to not be there but others times I'm filled with sadness for those people as well as dread at the sight or thought of such suffering. I'm hopeful that many of those living on that river bank find goodness in their lives. Happy holidays everyone!
