"Bloomfeild, November 2025" Oil on hardboard panel 12" x 16" x 12" .. I painted 98 % of this on Friday but wasn't happy with a few small details so I touch it up in the studio..... this was a lot of fun to paint, the lighting was beautiful, and initially I planned to paint an ally and steps close by, but a small dog was barking at me and so i moved from my first set up location, finding this wonderful spot. It felt tucked away and out of sight, but to my surprise, several people stopped and talked with me, those experiances always make a painting more memorable. For me, this painting is all about light, I intentionally left the forms very lose in hopes of emphasising the power of the light peeking through the back right and color of the shadow areas. I've debating if that technique may actually draw the eye to the places that seem to off, but on the flip side, if I had attempted to make everything perfectly straight, I belive the eye and mind would be drawn more so to the buildings. I had a thought about this technique. You find imperfection in perfection and perfection in the imperfection. I prefer the apply the imperfection and allow the viewer to find the perfection.
